BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree according to which the "Turkmenenergo" State Corporation will conclude a contract with the Turkish Çalik Enerji Sanaýi we Tijaret A.Ş company, Trend reports citing Orient news.

The contract provides for the construction of the first wind-solar power plant in Turkmenistan.

The capacity of the power plant, which will be located in the Serdar district of the Balkan region of Turkmenistan, in accordance with the contract will be 10 MW. Engineering systems and water supply facilities will be connected to it.

A power line from the Serdar power plant will also be built for this facility.

In accordance with the decree of the President, the project should be implemented in 1.5 years. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2022, and the facility will be commissioned in January 2024.

Turkmenistan's first wind and solar power plant will supply electricity to homes in settlements that are planned to be created around the artificial Altyn Asyr Lake.
