BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13. Chairman of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers Mammetkhan Chakiyev held a meeting with the Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov in the capital of Turkmenistan on March 10 in Ashgabat, during which the parties exchanged views on expanding transport and transit communication with the elimination of some difficulties arising in the process of cargo transportation, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for the development of cooperation in the field of transport and considered issues of unification and harmonization of tariffs and duties to simplify and accelerate border operations in order to quickly implement the process of cargo transportation.
The Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan proposed to switch to the digital E-permit system, which provides for the electronic exchange of permit forms for international cargo transportation by road.
At the end of the meeting, the meeting participants agreed to continue discussing the development of new transport and transit corridors, and also identified the next stages of improving and expanding bilateral cooperation.
