BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 4. Businessmen from Türkiye, UAE and Afghanistan purchased sulfur from Turkmen production during trading on March 28 at the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the exchange.

According to the information, entrepreneurs from Türkiye, UAE and Afghanistan purchased 130,000 tons of granular technical sulfur on the exchange for $42 per ton. The total amount of the transaction amounted to $5.4 million.

At the same time, according to the exchange, on March 27, businessmen from Uzbekistan and Afghanistan purchased 2,000 tons of kerosene in the amount of $1.1 million.

Technical sulfur is used for the production of sulfuric acid, carbon disulfide, and dyes, in pulp and paper, textile, and other industries and is used for export in the process of vulcanization of rubber.

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
