President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov approved an agreement on the CIS Tourism Council, Uzbek media outlets reported on Tuesday.
The agreement was signed at a meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the CIS in Ashgabat in May 2012.
In accordance with the document, the CIS countries establish the Tourism Council of the CIS member states, which will include heads of the relevant government authorities of the CIS member states in order to coordinate cooperation in tourism.
The Council reviews the conceptual issues, defines priority areas and forms of cooperation in tourism, and submits proposals aimed at solving specific problems in the field of tourism to the Council of CIS Heads of States for consideration.
Uzbek president instructed Foreign Ministry to send a notification on the fulfillment of internal procedures by the republic necessary for the entry into force of an international treaty.
