President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a decree awarding a group of employees of the country's law enforcement agencies, Defense Ministry and Ministry of Emergency Situations in connection with the Day of Defenders of the Motherland.
The Day of Defenders of the Motherland is marked in Uzbekistan on Jan.14.
According to the decree, published by media outlets in Uzbekistan on Friday, about 130 employees of the National Security, Ministry of Defence, Interior Ministry and Emergency Situations Ministry were awarded II degree "Shon-Sharaf", "Dustlik", "Mardlik" orders and "Jasorat" "Sodiq Hizmatlari uchun" and "Shukhrat" medals.
According to the document, they are awarded for "great contribution to improving the defense capacity of the state, ensuring national security and inviolability of the borders of the country, upbringing the youth in the spirit of national independence and loyalty to the country, courage in fulfilling duties to protect national interests and ensure peace, stability and social order".
