UCell mobile operator (a subsidiary of the Swedish-Finnish TeliaSonera group) in Uzbekistan announced a price increase in five tariff plans of the company.
According to the company, starting January 25, 2013, daily fee of the five most popular tariff plans - "Simple", "GAP", "More communication", "Online" and "Easy to remember" will be three cents per minute.
The operator also informed about changes introduced to the terms of service for the aforementioned tariff plans.
Changes directly affect the conditions of blocking phone numbers on the above tariffs. In particular, phone number will be blocked if the balance of the subscriber's account drops to zero, or if the subscriber does not use paid services, except charges for the minimum daily license fee for 30 days.
To continue using the services the subscriber will have to make the transition to an active status, which happens automatically in case of refilling principal balance with any minimum amount.
Another mobile operator "Beeline" (IP LLC Unitel, a subsidiary of the Russian "VimpelCom Ltd." in Uzbekistan) last week reported daily fee increase in their rates - up to 65 soums per minute for tariffs in soums (growth by 25 soum) and up to three cents for tariffs in dollar rates (an increase of one cent per minute) to enter into force on January 20.
The last increase in prices for mobile services was announced in early 2012, when the payment for the phone numbers was introduced for the first time.
Nowadays the number of mobile subscribers in Uzbekistan exceeds 25 million, while the number of Internet users - 7.9 million, of which over 4.27 million use mobile Internet.
Uzbekistan currently has four mobile operators: Unitel ("Beeline", GSM), Coscom (UCell, GSM), Perfectum Mobile (Rubicon Wireless Communication, CDMA) and branch of "Uzbektelecom Mobile" AK "Uzbektelecom" (Uzmobile, CDMA ).
