Uzbekistan and Russia have discussed the relevant issues of bilateral relations, the prospects for developing the cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres, Uzbekistan's Foreign Ministry said.

The discussions were held between Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Tashkent.

Russian ambassador to Uzbekistan Vladimir Turdenev also took part at the meeting.

During the talks, the sides focused on the practical steps for implementation of the agreements reached during the meeting of the two countries' presidents Islam Karimov and Vladimir Putin in Ufa, Russia July 10, said the ministry.

During the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Ufa, Putin sent invitation to Islam Karimov to pay a state visit to Russia.

The sides reaffirmed their interest in cooperation within Uzbekistan's chairmanship in SCO in 2015-2016.
