The fire which occurred in a 14-storey business center building in the center of Tashkent - in front of the Alay Bazaar (Oloy Market) and in the immediate vicinity of the Wyndham Tashkent hotel (formerly Dedeman Silk Road Tashkent), has been extinguished now.
The official versions of the incident are not yet announced, but the residents nearby said that the fire occurred due to welding. The fire quickly engulfed the casing and the outer structure of the building.
Ten fire brigades and emergency services arrived on the spot.
The spread of fire was stopped at about 7:30 p.m. (GMT + 5 hours), and the firemen continue to extinguish the building with water at the moment. Nearby houses and hotels were not affected.
Location of the incident was cordoned off. The traffic on the Amir Temur street in front of Oloy Market has been blocked.
