Uzbekistan plans to create a unified energy system through the construction of networks with a capacity of 500-750 kilowatts, Trend reports via the press service of the president of Uzbekistan.

According to the press service, it is planned to increase the total generating capacity to 27,400 megawatts and annual output to 110 billion kilowatt-hours by 2026.

“The main goal is to increase the stability of the energy system and uninterrupted supply of electricity to the population,” the press service said.

Previously, it was reported that a large-scale electricity power outage in Kazakhstan led to a power outage in a number of Uzbek cities. As a result of the negative impact of the accident on the energy system of Uzbekistan, which is connected to the single power grid, the voltage, and frequency of 530 lines from Kazakhstan have sharply changed.

As a result, electricity was cut off in the cities and districts of Fergana and Tashkent, in the Ferghana Valley, Syrdarya, Jizzakh, Samarkand, Navoi, and Kashkadarya regions.
