Uzbekistan launches new greenhouse complex

Uzbekistan has launched a new modern greenhouse complex with an area of ​​4 hectares in the Dangara district of the Fergana region,Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.

The construction of the greenhouse complex was completed at the end of 2021. The total cost of the project amounted to 27 billion soums ($2.5 million). The planned annual volume of production in this complex is 600 tons of tomatoes and 200 tons of cucumbers.

In 2017-2021, greenhouses with a total area of ​​251 hectares were built in the Fergana region of Uzbekistan, and as of the end of 2021, the total area of ​​greenhouses in this region of the country reached 311 hectares.

Thus, from the beginning of 2017 to the end of 2021, the total area of ​​greenhouses in the Fergana region increased from 60 to 311 hectares, or 5.2 times.

In 2021,398 modern greenhouses with a total area of ​​797 hectares were built in Uzbekistan, and the total investment in their construction amounted to 2.3 trillion soums ($212.4 million).

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of the end of 2021, the total area of ​​greenhouses in Uzbekistan amounted to 5,500 hectares.
