BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 1. Uzbekistan temporarily imposes a ban on the export of vegetable oil,Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.

Such measures were taken in accordance with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to the decree, from June 1, 2022, a ban was temporarily introduced on the export of the following categories of goods from the territory of Uzbekistan:

- vegetable oil, including cottonseed, sunflower, except for cases of prepayment under existing contracts concluded before June 1, 2022, as well as processed in accordance with the customs legislation of Uzbekistan, which provides for processing in third countries;

- sunflower seeds, as well as seeds and fruits of other oilseeds, unless otherwise provided by law.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has the right to resume the export of the above goods, provided that they are available in sufficient volume of these goods on the domestic market.
