BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 30. Uzbekistan's gold reserves have increased by 19 tons from January through August 2022,Trend reports via the World Gold Council.

The country ranked fifth in terms of growth in gold reserves in the world.

In August 2022, the increase in gold reserves in the country amounted to 9 tons (the same as in the previous two months).

Thus, net purchase since the beginning of the year exceeded 19 tons, despite the fact that the year has started with sales of almost 25 tons of gold in the first quarter.

Now the total gold reserves of Uzbekistan amount to more than 381 tons.

According to the country’s State Statistics Committee, Uzbekistan has not exported gold over the past five months.
