BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. Uzbekneftegaz has installed solar panels with a total capacity of 170 kW on the roofs of the company’s three administrative buildings, Trend via the press service of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

According to the statement, solar panels with a total capacity of 120 kW were installed on the roofs of two buildings in Tashkent city and with a capacity of 50 kW at the administrative building of Karshi city in Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan.

The newly installed panels will generate 255,000 kWh of electricity per year and will provide electricity to the administrative buildings during the daytime.

The message says that the company plans to install additional solar panels with a total capacity of 473 kW and produce 1.05 million of electricity by the end of 2023.

Earlier in March, the company installed solar panels with a capacity of 50 kW on the rooftop of the administrative building of Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex (the company's subsidiary). The panels will produce more than 95,700 kWh of electricity per year.

The abovementioned measures are taken within the framework of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s order to reduce the dependence of economic sectors on fuel and energy products by increasing energy efficiency.

The country’s authorities pay special attention to boosting renewables deployment countrywide. In this regard, the number of solar panels installed on buildings and structures of social facilities and economic entities will be expanded.
