BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. Iran plans to invest in Uzbekistan to develop tea production in the country, Trend reports via the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan.

The matter was discussed between Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Oybek Khamrayev, and the Director of the Iranian “Hasti Aryan Tamin” company Naseer Ansari.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects of implementation by the Iranian company of an investment project, which will be aimed at developing the production of tea in Uzbekistan with further supplies to both domestic and foreign markets.

To establish joint production of tea based on the national brand and subsequent export to foreign markets, the parties agreed to prepare pre-project documentation and organize laboratory facilities, while the Iranian side will supply modern equipment to Uzbekistan.

Hasti Arian Tamin, established in 2010, manufactures food products such as tea, rice, sugar, and spices. Starting in 2021, the company supplied tea to Uzbekistan under the trademark "Familia Tea".

Furthermore, in March 2023, Iran expressed interest in expanding its presence in the Central Asian market, creating a joint production chain with Uzbekistan, establishing cooperation with the Tashkent International Arbitration Center, as well as creating an Uzbek-Iranian joint Chamber of Commerce.
