Uzbekistan increases fruit and vegetable exports

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 25. Uzbekistan exported $672.9 million worth of fruits and vegetables in the first seven months of 2023, which is 22.4 percent more than in the previous year, Trend reports.

According to the State Agency of Uzbekistan, the main importing countries of fruit and vegetable products from Uzbekistan in the specified period were Russia (41.8 percent), Pakistan (14.6 percent), and Kazakhstan (12 percent).

The minimum amount of exports recorded in Azerbaijan ($3.9 million), Tajikistan ($3.9 million) and Georgia ($3.6 million).

In general, there is an increase in the export of external supplies of cherries by 58.9 percent, amounting to $52.9 million, millet by 157.7 times, amounting to $19.4 million, prunes by 72.6 percent, amounting to $25.3 million.

On the other hand, there is a decrease in the export of cabbage by 35.4 percent, amounting to $21.1 million, and tomatoes by 22.9 percent, amounting to $33.4 million.
