TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 7. Uzbekistan ranks first among the trading partners of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Trend reports.
As per data provided by the Commission, the Union’s trade turnover with Uzbekistan increased by almost a third in 2021 alone compared to the same period of the previous year and reached $11.2 billion, including exports that increased by 17.9 percent ($8.2 billion) and imports that increased by 39.1 percent ($3.1 billion).
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2022 increased by 22.7 percent compared to 2021 and amounted to $15.7 billion. Of these, exports amounted to $5.6 billion, and imports came to $10.1 billion.
The share of EAEU countries in the total volume of foreign trade turnover in Uzbekistan is 31.4 percent, with the total share of exports being 28.9 percent and the total share of imports coming to 33.1 percent.
