TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 29. A new heat supply system is being introduced in the Chilanzar district of Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region, Trend reports.
The $10 million project is being implemented jointly with the specialists of the Turkish Iltekno engineering company, while the modern heat generation equipment will be provided by the Italian MWM Energy Group.
The renovated power plant is said to have a capacity of 4.6 MW and will produce more than 25 gigacalories of thermal energy. Additionally, the heating line, with a length of 4.2 kilometers, has received double insulation.
The new heat supply system will provide heat to 120,000 square meters of residential buildings, 9,200 square meters of schools, 7,300 square meters of preschool institutions, and 3,000 square meters of sewage treatment plants.
Earlier this year, the Russian Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation expressed its willingness to modernize electricity and heat supply in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent. The potential project implied the prevention of electricity and heat outages, the modernization of the communal infrastructure, and the improvement of the electricity and heat supply in the capital city.
Meanwhile, in order to prepare thermal power plants for the autumn-winter period of 2023–2024, a total of 53 power plants are planned to be repaired. At the moment, current and major repairs have been completed at 26 main and auxiliary power plants.
