Volume of Uzbekistan’s industrial exports reaches new highs

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 26. As a result of structural transformations and the conditions created in industry over the past five years, exports of the electrical, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries in Uzbekistan amounted to $1.6 billion, Trend reports.

The number was revealed during a meeting between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and representatives of the electrical, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries of the Uzbek regions.

Production in these three industries has increased by 2.6 times over the mentioned period of time, and their share in industry has reached seven percent.

Moreover, 231 new types of production have been launched by Uzbek enterprises since 2018.

Earlier this year, works on the Uzbek-Iranian Continaz joint venture, being built on the territory of the Uzbek Navoiazot JSC, were completed.

According to Navoiyazot, the new factory is designed to produce 80,000 tons of sodium cyanide and 8,000 tons of hydrocyanic acid.

In addition to the sodium cyanide production lines, 11 buildings and structures will be constructed, including a pumping station, a central control panel, a local refrigeration unit, and a facility for burning exhaust gases. The enterprise will produce approximately 100 new jobs and is projected to be operational in 2024.
