The country ranked sixteenth in terms of growth in gold reserves in the world.
In total, the amount of gold reserves reached 35,927 tons worldwide as of November 2023.
In addition, Uzbekistan was among the largest buyers of gold in the world in December 2023.
According to the World Gold Council, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan purchased 9 tons of the precious metal during this period.
The top buyers also included Türkiye (19 tons), China (9 tons), Qatar (2 tons), Mongolia, and the Czech Republic (1 ton each).
