TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 3. Asian Development Bank (ADB) is planning to allocate $240 million for the construction of internal roads with cement concrete pavement project in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
According to the Uzbek president's office, 841 kilometers of
cement concrete roads would be built in Karakalpakstan as well as
86 districts throughout the country.
Uzbek contractors will handle all construction and technical
supervision. The major contractor will guarantee road maintenance
and operation for five years after they are commissioned.
Meanwhile, the ADB's current sovereign portfolio in Uzbekistan was
worth $5.06 billion as of January 2024.
The bank's current sovereign portfolio comprises 32 loans, one
grant, and one sovereign guarantee.
In reference with the bank's records, the ADB has contributed $11.5 billion in public sector loans, grants, and technical support to Uzbekistan to far.
