TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 11. Uzbekistan has approved the Strategy for the Improvement of Public Finance Management for 2025–2030 by Resolution No. 210 dated April 8, 2025, Trend reports.

The Strategy aims to streamline public finance management reforms, reduce the budget deficit by ensuring fiscal sustainability and discipline, enhance budget transparency, improve tax administration and its efficiency, boost the effectiveness of budget expenditures, maintain public debt at a macroeconomically safe level, and increase the liquidity of the state budget.

Among the key priorities of the strategy are the strengthening of mechanisms to ensure budget discipline, the introduction of strategic prioritization in medium-term budgeting, and the enhancement of the efficiency and effectiveness of public expenditures and investments.

The strategy will be implemented over the 2025-2030 period and sets 16 specific goals across the identified priority areas. A detailed action plan outlining tasks and practical measures has also been developed to ensure the gradual achievement of these goals.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s consolidated budget expenditures for 2024 have jumped to a whopping 433.6 trillion soums ($33.3 billion), making quite a splash in the financial pond. This indicator has increased by 3.3 percent from 381 trillion soums ($29.3 billion) in 2023.

The majority of spending, totaling 310.9 trillion soums ($23.9 billion) in 2024, came from the state budget, with additional contributions from joint operations, extrabudgetary funds, and external borrowings. This growth shines a light on the government’s continued commitment to pouring resources into public services and infrastructure.
