Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on Monday said solidarity among Iraqi groups would guarantee their successful transition from current critical situation in the region, IRNA reported.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Leader of the Iraqi Kurdistan Change Movement (Gorran) Nawshirwan Mustafa Amin in Tehran.
"All different Iraqi groups can successfully pass through the critical situation in the region by strengthening their unity and solidarity and refraining from any dvisive actions," Larijani said.
Pointing to critical developments taking place in the region, he underlined necessity of reinforcing and strengthening unity and solidarity among Iraqi groups and parties.
The Majlis Speaker reiterated that Iraq's national sovereignty depends only on unity, cooperation and brotherhood among all Iraqi groups and people either Kurd, Shi'a or Sunni.
"Iraq can change current threats to opportunities for its development and uplifting of its regional status in light of a strong centeral government and national unity, "Larijani said.
He said Iran has always supportrf the development and progress of Iraq and its role in regional developments.
Mustafa Amin briefed Larijani of latest developments in Iraq and thanked Iran for its support for all Iraqi ethnic groups and people.
He underlined the need for Iran's continued support for convergence and unity of all groups in Iraq and said supporting socio-economic reforms, fighting injustice and reinforcing unity and solidarity in Iraq are the main priorities of his political group.
