Iranian Deputy FM, Venezuelan FM talk bilateral relations

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs, Majid Takht Ravanchi and Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Elias Jaua discussed bilateral relations during a meeting in Caracas, Iran's Fars news agency reported on Jan. 17.

During the meeting the officials talked about bilateral cooperation on regional and international issues.

Takht Ravanchi underlined that the Iranian administration is ready to cooperate with Venezuela on issues of interest to both sides and in particular economic areas.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister for his part pointed out the two countries` strategic ties and emphasised about boosting mutual relations.

The Iranian deputy foreign minister started his tour to three Latin American countries early this week.

Takht Ravanchi left Tehran for Havana on Jan. 13 to discuss bilateral ties with Cuban officials.

On Jan. 12 he announced visits to Cuba, Venezuela and Bolivia to hold talks with officials to pave the way for boosting Tehran's ties and interactions with the three Latin nations.

Takht Ravanchi said his Latin American tour will last 10 days and focus on various political and economic agendas, including Iran's peaceful nuclear programme.

In recent years, Iran has expanded friendly ties with Latin America, especially in economic, trade and industrial fields.
