Iran, Romania review expansion of mutual relations

(IRNA) - Iran's Ambassador to Bucharest Ali-Akbar Farazi conferred with Romanian Chairman of the Senate Nicolae Vacaroiu on issues of mutual interests.

According to THE Iranian Embassy, Farazi felicitated Romania on joining the European Union, calling the country a bridge for expansion of ties with the union.

Given deep-rooted historical ties between the two countries, he called for benefiting from existing potentials to further broaden political, economic, and parliamentary cooperation between Iran and Romania, reports Trend.

Romanian chairman of the Senate, for his part, voiced willingness for boosting parliamentary relations between the two countries.

On Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, the Iranian envoy highlighted the country's drive to build confidence, voicing Iran's readiness to settle issue through negotiations.

The Romanian official underlined that he is well aware of Iran's stance, expressing hope that the issue will be resolved through confidence-building and talks.
