Iran's imports from the US over the first two months of the current Iranian year (started March 20) have increased by 20 times year-on-year.
Iran's imports from the US in the mentioned period amounted to $51.349 million, Mehr news agency reported June 14.
According to the report, oil seeds form the largest part of the products Iran imported from the US.
Tasnim news agency said that recently a ship carrying 60,000 tons of soybean oil seeds from the US has docked at an Iranian port.
The report added that a recent flood in Argentina has destroyed a large part of the South American country's oil seeds, and that is why many importers had to turn to the US.
