An Iranian trade delegation has arrived in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on a two-day visit to discuss expansion of bilateral ties.
Ali Navadad, a deputy governor general of Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province, is heading the 24- member provincial delegation, the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Nakhchivan told the media outlets.
During the visit, the representatives of several companies from Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province discussed opportunities for joint production with Nakhchivan.
Upon their arrival, Iran’s Consul General to Nakhchivan Mansour Airom briefed the delegation about the existing infrastructure and grounds for cooperation in Nakhchivan.
Representatives from the firms involved in construction, food industry, packaging, exports and imports, transportation, glass, steel, agriculture, and building materials as well as administrative officials are among the delegation members.
The members of the delegation have also meet with Nakhchivan’s senior officials during the visit.
Iranian Consul General Mansour Airom described joint economic cooperation with Nakhchivan as “a bridge for extensive cooperation with Azerbaijan and even with the Caucasus and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).”
