Iran and Renault joint venture, Renault Pars, is reportedly in talks with a European supplier to domestically produce anti-lock braking systems (ABS), Asr-e Iran news website reported.

The report said the collaboration with the European side in the second phase will lead to the production of the electronic stability program (ESP) in the country.

According to the report, the Iranian side in the first phase will assemble the systems in 2018 and in the next phases it will begin the production process domestically.

Iran has already launched domestic production of gearboxes and engines.

Renault sales in Iran’s car market registered a huge rise by 100.3 percent in the first half of 2017.

The company’s share from Iran’s market increased to 9.8 percent during the 6-month period year-on-year thanks to the success of Tondar and Sandero models, the French carmaker said earlier.
