Weekly performance of Iran’s equity market

Over the past week, the main index of the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) experienced its highest weekly jump since February 2016.
The main index of the TSE added 2.85 percent or 2737.6 points to rest at 98923.5 over the past Iranian week to Jan. 19.
According to the official website of the TSE, the index of the first market gained 2482.1 points or 3.64 percent to stand at 70710.1 points on the last trading day of the week on Wednesday.
The index of the second market surged by 3004 points or 1.46 percent to post 208331.
About 5.3 billion shares, valued at $352 million, were traded for the week.
The volume and value of the trades over the week respectively surged by 70 percent and 54 percent.
