In Iran, the price of tomato paste increased by 228 percent in the sixth month of the current Iranian year (started March 21) compared to the same month of last Iranian year, Mehr News Agency reported citing the Statistical Center of Iran.
Banana follows the tomato paste with a 168.2 percent increase in the price and the third in the list is the tomato with 147.4 percent.
Compared to the fifth month, the price of tomato paste increased by 89.6 percent, potato - by 46.1 percent and tomato - by 40.5 percent.
In recent months, amid strong devaluation in Iran's currency market, substantial increases have been reported in all prices.
