Iran's exports via borders of Mazandaran province up

In the first month of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Iran's exports through the borders of its Mazandaran province grew by 14 percent in terms of weight, compared to the first month of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2018-March 20, 2019), Ali Yusifimanesh, an official with Mazandaran Customs Administration, told reporters, Trend reports referring to the country's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance.

The total value of goods exported via Mazandaran's borders in the reported period reached $18.8 million, the customs official said.

In the first months of the current year, over 70,000 tons of goods were exported via Mazandaran's borders to Iraq, Russia, Kazakhstan, India, the UAE, Turkmenistan and other countries, Yusifimanesh said.

Some of the main export items were dairy products, ice cream, rubber, paper and kiwi fruit, the customs official added.

In the first month of the current year, Iran imported 270,000 tons of goods for $85.8 million through the borders of Mazandaran, he said.

He further noted that imports through Mazandaran increased by 28 percent in terms of weight, and 51 percent in terms of value.

Some of the main import items were animal feed, oil, butter, electrical goods, Yusifimanesh said. These goods were mostly imported from Russia, Germany, the UAE, Turkey, Switzerland, he added.
