Over 600,000 tons of wheat to be bought from farmers in counties of Iran's north

In the current crop year, according to forecast, over 600,000 tons of wheat will be purchased from farmers of Iran's East Azerbaijan province, Isfandiyar Abulhasanzadeh, the executive director of Iran's 8th zone grain and trade services organization, said at a meeting on the purchase of agricultural crops, Trend reports via IRNA.
Wheat harvest has already begun in the province's Khoda aferin and Kaleybar counties and so far, 6,000 tons of wheat have been from farmers of the two counties, Abulhasanzadeh said.
The total capacity of the province's grain storage facilities is one million tons, he said, adding that last year, 65 percent of the storage facilities were full and this they are expected to be 60 percent full with grains.
