Iran to complete setting up gas equipment production process within 5 years

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 10

By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

Iran will complete setting up the equipment production process for the gas industry within five years, Iranian Deputy Oil Minister and Executive Director of the National Iranian Gas Company Hassan Montazer said.

Montazer made the remark in Iran at the Gas Tech Show, Trend reports referring to Shana.

“The local production and supply is not an easy process,” the deputy oil minister said. “However, this process has been recently closely monitored. Iran is almost self-sufficient in the gas industry.”

“The sanctions imposed on Iran by the US have always had an impact on the gas industry,” Montazer added. “The equipment for the gas sector is mainly manufactured domestically.”

“Presently, there are two brands for the production of turbochargers in the country. Turbocharger plants mainly meet the country's needs in gas industry," the deputy oil minister said. "Some products are not produced in Iran yet, but they will also be produced domestically.”

“The equipment worth 20 trillion rials (approximately $476 million) is showcased at Gas Tech Show, and other equipment is stored at gas processing plants and other gas production facilities,” Montazer said. “Thus, start-up companies may review the gas industry process.”

Iran's Gas Tech Show, in which special technologies mainly used in the gas industry are showcased, kicked off last week and will last three days.
