BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. In general, 12,578,000 tons of cargo were transported through the roads of the West Azerbaijan Province (north-western Iran), over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), the head of the roads and transport department of the West Azerbaijan Province Morteza Akbari said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
The official noted that cement was mainly transported through the province’s roads for the reporting period. So, the volume of transported cement was 3,341,000 tons.
Akbari said that over last Iranian year, 27,000 drivers operated in the province on cargo transportation. In this regard, a total of 32,000 different trucks were used.
According to him, about 653,000 tons of essential products were transported from Iran’s Imam Khomeini port to the West Azerbaijan Province last Iranian year.
