TEHRAN, Iran, November 9. Iran’s electronic commerce (on domestic platforms) is worth 13 trillion rials (about $3 billion), the Ministry of Industry Mine and Trade said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
The ministry released a statement, stressing the effort to protect the chain supply and adjacent services. It was also noted that the e-commerce is vital for Iran.
The statistics of Iran's Center for e-Commerce Development shows that more than 80 percent of businesses use social networks as one of their sale methods, however, the trade process and safe transaction is usually done via other domestic platforms.
According to the statement, social networks are not considered e-commerce and are used as branding and advertising tools, while domestic platforms are the main instruments for electronic commerce.
