BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 9. Exports of Iranian food and agricultural products increased in value by 23 percent in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024) compared to the same period last year, a representative of the Central Union of Rural and Agricultural Cooperatives of Iran, Rouhollah Latifi wrote on social networks, Trend reports.
According to Latifi, Iran's food and agricultural exports amounted to $5.59 billion in the first 11 months.
Latifi added that the value of Iran's agricultural exports amounted to 12.5 percent of Iran's non-oil exports-about $44.9 billion.
''Iran exported food and agricultural products worth $1.78 billion to Iraq, about $676 million to the UAE, $464 million to Russia, about $448 million to Pakistan, and $383 million to Afghanistan in 11 months,'' Latifi noted.
He said Iran exported about $258 million worth of food and agricultural products to India, $216 million to Türkiye, about $216 million to China, around $216 million to Turkmenistan, approximately $105 million to Russia, and nearly $98.9 million to Azerbaijan in the first 11 months.
Meanwhile, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, Iran's exports of non-oil products amounted to about 125 million tons worth about $44.9 billion in the first 11 months of the year. Iran's exports of non-oil products decreased by 8.87 percent in value terms and increased by 11.4 percent in weight terms.
