Iran enhances domestic petrochemical production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. The production potential of Iran's petrochemical products will increase by 5 million tons in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025) compared to the last year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Iran's Deputy Oil Minister and Executive Director of the National Petrochemical Company, Morteza Shah-Mirzaei said, Trend reports.

According to him, Iran's petrochemical production potential will exceed 100 million tons in the current Iranian year.

Shah-Mirzaei noted that the production potential of Iran's petrochemical products last year was more than 95 million tons.

The deputy minister stated that 12 plants and facilities will be put into operation this year.

The official stated that Iran produces 97 percent of the catalysts needed in the oil, gas, refining, and petrochemical industries inside the country. Iran is fully ready to cooperate with neighboring countries in the production of various types of machinery, their repair, and catalysts.

To note, Iran produced about 75 million tons of petrochemical products last year.
