BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 22. Tax revenues in Iran grew by 70.6 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024) from the previous Iranian year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Trend reports via the Iranian National Tax Administration (INTA).
In the reporting period, this figure amounted to nearly 8.06 quadrillion rials (about $192 billion) compared to the same period last year (4.72 quadrillion rials, or nearly $112 billion).
Meanwhile, direct taxes accounted for 4.84 quadrillion rials (about $107 billion).
Taxes on goods and services in the current Iranian year stood at 3.21 quadrillion rials (about $76.4 billion).
Besides, in the reporting period, tax revenues from legal entities for direct taxes stood at 3.13 quadrillion rials (about $74.5 billion).
Also, income tax for direct taxes amounted to 1.42 trillion rials (about $33.8 billion), and wealth tax for direct taxes was 280 trillion rials (about $6.67 billion).
To note, tax revenues in Iran are received based on transparent and accurate data. Moreover, tax revenues increased by eight percent compared to the budget of last year.
