Deputies of Georgian parliament submitted legislative amendments regarding new tobacco products and electronic cigarettes on June 17, Trend reports with reference to interpressnews.ge.
According to the project, manufacturers and importers of tobacco products shall provide national Ministry of Health with a notification confirming their compliance with the standards in terms of chemical composition, proportions and weights of individual components and emitted substances three months prior to placing products on the market. In addition, the notification should be accompanied by a detailed description of the new tobacco products, as well as instructions on their use and information on the ingredients of the tobacco product.
One more rule for placing medical warning for new tobacco products introduced into the draft law stipulates that each package of tobacco products shall be placed under the text of the medical warning (without an image), approved by the government legislation of Georgia.
