Georgian president to introduce new government to parliament on Tuesday

President of Georgia will introduce new prime minister and Cabinet of Ministers to the parliament on Tuesday.

According to the government secretary in Georgian Parliament Gia Khuroshvili, it will take place at a meeting of the Bureau of Parliament.

Following introducing the new government, the parliament will have to convene an extraordinary meeting within a week to discuss the composition represented of the Cabinet of Ministers. New composition of the government will be introduced at the meeting by Georgian Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili appointed by president.

According to the lobby, following appointment of Merabishvili, current Defense Minister, Bacho Akhalaia will take post of Interior Minister, while current National Security Council Secretary Giga Bokeria will take Akhalaia's post. Other reshuffles in the Cabinet of Ministers are not reported.

Simple majority of the parliament is needed for approval of the new government and prime minister. The parliament should also give credence to the government program.

If the parliament will refuse credence to the government three times, the president will have to propose a new composition of the government.
