Georgia, Tbilisi, July 5 / Trend N.Kirtskhalia /

Truck drivers held a day of protest action in the Georgian city of Poti.

Several dozen people who gathered in the centre of the port city protested against the fact that private companies began to give up their services and move goods using the Georgian Railway.

According to the drivers they arrived in Poti from all over Georgia and have been engaged in recent years in cargo and container traffic, but two months ago companies began to ask to use the services of transportation via the Georgian Railway.

Drivers say that foreign drivers are also engaged as transportation in Georgia thus taking away orders from the locals.

Protesters say about 600 people are unemployed and asked the authorities to take the best decision to find a way out of the situation.
