Prime Minister of Georgia Vano Merabishvili and governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region Caesar Chocheli visited the customs checkpoint in Lars on the Georgian-Russian border and inspected the terminal.

According to the statement of Caesar Chocheli, after checkpoint opening sharply increased the number of visitors and amount of traffic between Georgia and Russia. He noted that in the near future, after Russia becomes a WTO member, Swiss accommodate observers at the checkpoint "Lars", whose will be watch how Russia fulfill the promise to Georgia for the consent to membership in the WTO.
Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili talked with the customs and said that in the near future on the site Kobi-Gudauri begin laying highest quality concrete coating, so this way does not require repair for decades. According to him, residents of Kazbegi region will be occupied for repairs.
