Significant personnel changes will be made in the prosecutor's office, Chief Prosecutor of Georgia Archil Kbilashvili said at a press conference on Tuesday.

"I believe that significant personnel changes should be made in the main prosecution. I have repeatedly noted in public statements that replacements will be made in the senior management of the structural units in the central office. The district attorney and the prosecutor of Tbilisi will be replaced, individual examination of candidates for prosecutors will take place at the district level. I will need about a week to accomplish all these plans," Kbilashvili said.

In addition, he called upon the citizens who wish to work in the prosecutor's office to send their resumes to the Ministry of Justice in the next two days..

Referring to prosecutors, Archil Kbilashvili, demanded postponement of cases on the merits in the ordinary courts for two weeks.

"It concerns the inadmissibility of the verdict. Our goal is to review the illegal verdicts. The review of cases will be made possible for defendants on the basis of the application. We need to update the prosecutor's office, the new staff will review the charges and / or withdraw them or continue the proceedings, "Kbilashvili said, adding that the two-week time-out will not affect combat measures and to the cases with expiration of nine month procedural terms.

Attorney General also called to the corpus of lawyers, that they, to apply to prosecutors within the time-out and ask them to explain why they find their clients not guilty or why they demand facilitation of their prosecution.
