Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb. 2 / Trend, N. Kirtskhalia /
The President of Georgia offers majority and the minority to discuss constitutional amendments together.
As Mikheil Saakashvili stated in Batumi on Friday at a news conference, Constitution requires improvement, and the National Movement in the interest of the country is ready to cooperate on this issue.
"We are quite clear that, in the interests of the country, we need cooperation. Want to tell the Prime Minister and the majority: our constitution needs to be improved. I think yesterday President of the Venice Commission stated clearly that there is no need for such changes, but when there will be need for such changes, they should be adopted by 150 votes, not 100, "- Saakashvili said.
The president said that if necessary amendments to the Constitution are needed, "we will do it all together, not some separate faction, group, or bribed, intimidated MP".
"How to kidnap scout from the enemy and drag him bound and gagged on their side, so they wanted to resolve this issue. They could not drag the desired number of scouts. We want cooperation. Let us open wide the constitutional debate, to work and, I am sure, in the interest of the country, save the state's policies and sovereignty. We can reach a consensus on constitutional amendments in 150 votes, "- Saakashvili said.
