Georgia, Tbilisi, March 15 / Trend, N. Kirtzkhalia /
Miners are striking in Georgia again.
Up to 150 workers of Gruzugol GIG's Dzidziguri mine are demanding a 50-percent increase in pay, the improvement of working conditions, and a freeze in the number of employed persons and restoration of those laid-off workers.
They expressed their solidarity with eight workers dismissed by the administration three days ago.
The strikers are appealing to Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili for help because only he can solve their problems.
Trade unions are not involved in the strike.
Chairman of Tkibuli trade union of miners Giorgi Babuhadiya said that miners did not appeal to them.
