Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili appointed Otar Partshaladze chief prosecutor on Nov.21.

According to Article 9 of Georgia's law "On the Prosecutor's Office", Justice Minister of Georgia Thea Tsulukiani appealed today to Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili with a submission about dismissal of Chief Prosecutor Archil Kbilashvili from the post.

Meanwhile, the justice minister presented the prime minister the candidacy of Otar Partshaladze to the post of chief prosecutor.

The ministry said that according to the amendments made after the presidential elections of 2013, the chief prosecutor of Georgia is appointed by prime minister on the presentation of justice minister.

Before the amendments took effect, the chief prosecutor was being appointed by the president.
