Georgia shares data on its top goods exported to Russia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 21

Georgian exports to Russia from January through September 2021 amounted to $426.2 million, which is an increase of 38.1 percent, compared to $308.6 million over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

Russia’s share in the total Georgian exports accounted for 14.3 percent over first 9 months of 2021, compared to 12.8 percent over the same period of 2020.

TOP-5 Georgia's commodities exported to Russia (Jan. through Sept.2021):

- Ferro-alloys – $115.6 million (increase of 45.9 percent, compared to $79.2 million over the same period of 2020);

- Natural wine – $94.9 million (increase of 15 percent, compared to $82.5 million over the same period of 2020);

- Mineral water – $45.5 million (increase of 53.1 percent, compared to $29.7 million over the same period of 2020);

- Fresh fruits – $26 million (increase of 34.7 percent, compared to $19.3 million over the same period of 2020);

- Alcoholic beverages – $24.6 million (increase of 12.8 percent, compared to $21.8 million over the same period of 2020).

Russia remained one of the TOP-3 of Georgian export partners in the reporting period of 2021, alongside with China ($478.3 million) and Azerbaijan ($400.2 million).
