Georgia and Ukraine sign protocol on economic cooperation

Georgia and Ukraine signed the protocol on economic cooperation at the sitting of the Georgian-Ukrainian Joint Intergovernmental Commission, Trend reports via Georgian media.

The sitting was chaired by Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava and Ukrainian Minister of Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov.

The officials discussed the state of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in the fields of industry, energy, transport, communications, information technology and innovation, as well as tourism, agriculture, intellectual property and other sectors.

Georgia and Ukraine agreed to continue working towards strengthening transport links on the Black Sea, to develop rail-ferry traffic and feeder transport, as well as to increase the competitiveness of the transit corridor through the implementation of various measures.

The parties also discussed the cooperation between Georgia and Ukraine within the framework of the European integration.

Georgia and Ukraine have established active trade and economic cooperation over the years that will also continue in the future in all directions, Oleh Nemchinov said.
