By Orkhan Quluzade – Trend:

Turkey will not allow the formation of groups threatening its national security on the border with Syria, Turkish media outlets quoted the country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as saying May 3.

Erdogan made the remarks at a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi.

The Turkish president stated that the talks on Syria in Astana must strengthen the truce, but some sabotage the process.

“As guarantor countries, we must very delicately approach this issue. We need to strengthen this truce [in Syria] at the earliest opportunity through the Astana meetings. But some others waste their energy to sabotage this process,” Erdogan said.
