Catholic Cardinal accuses Europeans of spreading Islam in Europe
Europeans themselves allow the Islamic faith "to conquer" the European continent, the Roman Catholic Church's cardinal said, the Sydney morning herald newspaper reported.
Prague's archbishop Miloslav Vlk said that Muslims can fully fill the "spiritual emptiness'' while the Europeans will "clean" their life from Christian content.
"Europe will pay much for forgetting its spiritual roots," he said.
"This was the last chance to do something. This chance will not remain for decades," he said.
''Muslims are going ahead. They have a religious desire to bring spiritual values, faith in God to the heathen sphere of Europe, which has atheistic way of life".
He thinks that life will be Islamized till Christians wake up.
Seventy-seven-year-old-cardinal has made these statements in an interview on the occasion of his retirement after 19-year-work as head of the Czech church.
He does not blame the Muslims in a crisis, because the Europeans themselves have come to such a state by exchanging the Christian culture for aggressive secularism, which passed into atheism.
''Europe denies Christian roots from which it occurred and which could give it the strength to fend off the threat not to be conquered by Muslims that actually happens gradually".
Vatican opposes the joining of Muslim Turkey the European Union because it does not share its Christian heritage.
