Israeli forces have opened fire and wounded a Palestinian man as their tanks shelled farms in southeast Gaza Strip, medics and witnesses say.
They added that Israeli tanks stationed along the border fired three shells at a group of Palestinians, injuring one of them, Press TV reported.
"A Palestinian was wounded with shrapnel in his right leg" in the Abbassan area east of Khan Yunis, a medical official said on Thursday.
AFP quoted an Israeli military spokeswoman as claiming that Israeli tanks had fired at a "Palestinian operative planting an explosive device along the border fence."
Israeli forces occasionally attack Palestinians along the Gaza border.
In a separate development, Israeli troops detained 11 Palestinians in the West Bank during several raids.
The arrests continue on daily basis despite security agreements between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
